ATTN: Malwarebytes Users
The Malwarebytes program
interferes with the installation of ProLog program files. Apparently it
not only prevents installation but either deletes the installer program or moves
it into quarantine WITHOUT WARNING! If you are using Malwarebytes you need
to disable Malwarebytes during installation or exclude a few ProLog folders from
Malwarebytes. If you use the Exclusion options you should be able to keep
Malwarebytes running during ProLog update installations To exclude ProLog
from scans, open Malwarebytes and click on the Settings tab, followed by the
Exclusions tab. From the Exclustions tab navigate the the "C:\Program
Files (x86)\PROLOG-V8" folder and add that folder to the exclusions list.
If you are running the 32-bit version of Windows, navigate to the "C:\Program
Files\PROLOG-V8" folder and add that folder to the exclusions list. The
final folder to exclude is the folder used to install ProLog updates. Again, from
the Exclusions tab in Malwarebytes, navigate to the "C:\ProLog
Update Files" folder and add that to the exclusion list. You can refer to
https://www.malwarebytes.com/support/guides/mbam-legacy/MalwareExclusions.html
for information directly from Malwarebytes. If you attempted to install a ProLog update
or upgrade and it was deleted by Malwarebytes, follow the instructions on exclusion that are
outlined above, and again download and install the update or upgrade file.
Please keep in mind that ProLog does not and never has included any spyware,
malware or viruses in any of its programs.
ProLog-V8
System Upgrade File (UD_V8.40.06)
Detailed
Version
History
Attention ProLog Version 8.40.x
Users: If you are currently using the
licensed version of ProLog Version 8.40.xx, the UD_V8406 file is an
UPDATE and is completely free. Simply download and install
the update using PUP. For information on the V8.40.06 enhancements,
click
here. Users of ProLog Versions
8.30.2 or earlier must purchase this version
as an upgrade before use and are referred to
NOTE-1 below.
The 8.4x.x
versions of ProLog represent a major upgrade to facilitate data transfers
between ProLog and both WSJT-X or JTAlert when operating the FT8 and FT4 modes.
Operationally, when ProLog links to either application, QSO data is sent
to ProLog where it is automatically saved in the currently selected
logbook. This new feature will eliminate the need for exporting and
importing ADIF files between the applications.
NOTE-1: The new UD_V8406 package is an
UPGRADE for anyone using ProLog V8.30.2 or
earlier and is not a free update, and is available for purchase via our
secure order form.
All ProLog users must have a registered account with DataMatrix to
activate the UD_V8406 upgrade. After you place your UD_V8406 order, we
will contact you via email with further instructions regarding the
download and installation of the UD_V8406 installation package. In some cases, this
process may require the installation of a new license file which we will
supply via your personal account.
NOTE-2: To prepare your ProLog system for the installation of the new
UD_V8406 upgrade, perform the following steps:
1) Click Help > About ProLog and note your current version which is directly below the ProLog Logo.
Due to major changes in the program, depending on your current version of ProLog,
you may have to progressively update your system before you can install
the UD_V8406 upgrade.
IMPORTANT:
In order to progressively update, you must be currently running a version of ProLog in the V8.xx series. If you are running an earlier version of ProLog (V3, V4, V5, V6, V7) progressive updating is
NOT an option. If such is the case, to begin the V8.40.06 upgrade process, you must first download
and install the ProLog-V8 Demo Program and then
once the demo is installed and operational, you may then proceed to
purchase the ProLog Logging System (New Installation) from the
secure order form.
2) If your ProLog version is V8.30.1 or greater, proceed to step
#4.
3) If your ProLog version number is less than or equal to V8.10.7 then you must
first
download and install the
UD_V8302 version update, then re-index all of your
logbooks.
4) When your ProLog system version displays
"V8.30.1" or "V8.30.2" (Help > About ProLog), your ProLog system is up to date,
you may then proceed to purchase the V8.40.06 upgrade from the
secure order form.
WARNING!! Do not download and install the UD_V8406 upgrade
until you have purchased the upgrade and have received an authorization
email from DataMatrix. The reason for this warning is that the installation
process will overwrite your existing version of ProLog, and without the
proper authorization code and license, the upgrade application will not
launch. Should this occur, to return your ProLog system back to normal
operation, you will have to roll-back the UD_V8406 upgrade installation by
downloading and re-installing the
UD_V8302
update package. Alternatively, simply leave the UD_V8406 installation in
place, order the UD_V8406 upgrade package via the
secure order form, and we
will send you the authorization codes via Email.
***** As a precaution,
prior to downloading and installing any System Update File, backup all
of your logbooks. *****
Important: In Order to Download and Integrate the ProLog-V8 System Update file, you must have the Prolog Updater Program (PUP) installed on your local system. Click here to navigate to the PUP download section.
When
ProLog-V8 was installed on your computer, a folder named "X:\\ProLog Update
Files", was created in the root directory of your volume (Typically
'C') where ProLog-V8 was installed. This folder is used to store the various
update files that support the Prolog System. Once the update file(s) have been
downloaded to the Update Files folder, the new ProLog Updater Program (PUP) will
handle the local transfer and integration of the update file(s).
This system update file must be downloaded into that
folder prior to launching the PUP program.
The System Update File
contains individual files that will update the ProLog-V8 executable,
Prefix Database, Award Templates, ADIF definitions, Cabrillo
Definitions, Rig Control Files, and the Map and Flag files. It is not
necessary to download and install any previously released System Update
File(s) as this update file encompasses all previously update releases.
This download also includes the latest Help Files. Future Updates will be posted
and may be downloaded from the
Help File update section on this page.
Periodically check that section to make sure you have the latest Help File Update.
Make sure you read the version history page that will be displayed after the System Update file has been Installed. It may contain additional instructions relative to the changes made to your ProLog System with this update. After the update(s) have been downloaded and installed, launch ProLog-V8, click "Help", then "About ProLog" and verify that the ProLog executable version number is "V8.40.06" dated "August 25, 2019", the Prefix File version is "V6.01" dated "April 5, 2019" and the HTML Help File version number is "V8.40.6". If the version numbers and/or dates of these files do not correspond with the versions previously stated, the system and/or Help update file has not been properly installed. Download the file again and follow the procedures outlined in the ProLog "Help > Downloading Update Files" menu entry.

CallMaster Database Monthly Update File
Important: In Order to Download and Integrate the CallMaster Update file, you must have the Prolog Updater Program (PUP) installed on your local system. Click here to navigate to the PUP download section.
The
CallMaster update file is
made available to
those customers that have purchased the Prolog CallMaster database; the file contains the latest
license revisions taken
directly from the FCC and VE online databases. The CallMaster database supplement file is updated on a
monthly basis. This file is initialized each
time a new CallMaster volume is released, so do not download an update file if
you are using an earlier release of the CallMaster product. Additionally, each
update file is edition specific, meaning they are not interchangeable. Use only
the update file for your specific subscription. If your update file indicates it
is the "6th (Last)" file, this is your final update and your subscription will
expire in one month. You can check your update file version at any time by
typing "UPDFI" in the Call field and clicking the CallMaster button. In
the Comment field of that record is a string of information indicating the
Volume issue (i.e., "Apr 2019") and the update file that is currently installed.
If the update file name in the Comment field ends with "-6.EXE" it is the final
update for your subscription and it is time to renew. Please contact DataMatrix at 1-505-892-5669 or click
here to renew your
subscription from our secure order form. To download your CallMaster
update file, click on the CallMaster Update File name in the left column of the
table below.

ProLog Updater Program (PUP) (V7 Users Only)
The ProLog Updater Program (PUP) is a new ProLog Utility that makes the downloading and integration of ProLog Update Files much easier and more convenient than previous procedures. All ProLog-V8 Users will have PUP installed as a part of their system installation so there is no need, with the exception of a possible executable update, to download this file. Users of ProLog-V7 however must download and install this file into their ProLog systems so they can download and install any update or subscription (CallMaster, LoTW, QSL Route D/B) files.
This is accomplished as follows:
1) Download and save the ProLogUpdater executable file to your "x:\Program Files\ProLog-V7 folder.
2) Once the download is complete, open the "x:\ Program Files\ProLog-V7 folder and locate the ProLogUpdater.exe file. Right-click on the file name which will display a menu; locate the "Send To" menu entry, then left-click on the "Desktop (create shortcut) menu entry.
3) If you are running under Windows Vista or Windows-7/8/10, locate and right-click on the "ProLog Updater" shortcut just created, then left-click the "Properties" menu entry, then left-click the "Compatibility" tab. At the bottom of the Compatibility dialog, activate the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox. If the checkbox is grayed, click the "Shortcut" tab then the "Advanced" button and activate the "Run as Administrator" checkbox. Make sure you "OK" and "Apply" your settings.
4) Once the shortcut has been placed on the desktop, launch PUP and follow the instructions for updating ProLog's System Files, or the CallMaster, LoTW, and QSL Route Databases.
ProLog Updater Program (PUP) Executable Updates (ProLog V7/V8)
This section is to be used by Users that have already downloaded the ProLog Updater Program. If we release any PUP executable updates you will be notified in this section. To make sure you have the latest version, launch your Prolog Updater program and check the version number shown in the Caption Bar. If the version Number is "V1.00" then your ProLog Updater program is up to date. If the version number is less than "V1.00" then a download of the latest version is required.
This is accomplished as follows:
1) Shutdown the Prolog Updater Program or Prolog if it is running.
2) If you are running Prolog-V8 under Windows XP, Vista-32, or Win7/8/10-32 click on the link below and download the ProLog Updater program to your "x:\Program Files\ProLog-V8" folder.
